Towne Park Cares
Towne Park is committed to a sustainable future and to improving and protecting the environmental well-being of the communities in which we live and serve. Our goal is to foster corporate citizenship, sustainability, and socially responsible initiatives across Towne Park communities. Towne Green strives to inspire and educate our associates to be greener citizens in addition to making our facilities and operations more green nationwide.
We are leaders in the green garage movement with senior level representation on Green Parking Council’s board of directors and credentialing committee. Towne Park is a Platinum Launch Partner of the Green Parking Council, a 501(c)(3) organization, whose mission is to bring greater sustainability to all aspects of the parking industry.
The Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was founded in 2004 (originally known as The Check Foundation) to serve and support the communities in which Towne Park associates live and work. The foundation’s charitable focus is to help children in need, specifically with education. The foundation strives to support and contribute to other non-profit organizations providing educational resources, tutoring, learning-disabilities instruction, special needs, and extraordinary educational programs.
In addition to supporting other non-profit and philanthropic organizations, the foundation has disbursed over $100,000 in financial assistance to various individuals since 2004. The financial assistance primarily helped Towne Park employees and family members with basic necessities, deposits for temporary housing, prescriptions, insurance deductibles, and so on, after a devastating event such as a home fire or the 2005 hurricane season. The foundation also manages and administers the Valentine Memorial Scholarhip Fund - see below for more details.

The Valentine Memorial Scholarship

Bob Valentine at Towne Park’s 2006 Annual Meeting Awards Banquet presenting an award now named in his honor.
In November 2007, Towne Park lost a colleague, friend and family member, and The Foundation lost one of its largest supporters – Robert James Valentine. To honor his memory, Towne Park and The Foundation joined forces to create the Valentine Memorial Scholarship.
Part of Bob’s passion in life was teaching others what he learned, developing people’s talents and strengths, and encouraging individuals to pursue their dreams and aspirations. The Foundation, along with friends, family, and colleagues, created this scholarship to honor Bob’s memory and passion for life.
Annually, The Foundation awards one student a $10,000 college tuition scholarship to be disbursed in equal installments per college semester. So long as the recipient remains eligible, the foundation will continue to provide financial support during their two- or four-year undergraduate program. During their college tenure, a recipient could receive up to $40,000 in tuition assistance from the foundation and the Valentine Memorial Scholarship Fund. By 2012, TheFoundation envisions four college students supported by the Valentine Memorial Scholarship Fund.
