Melissa Greenwell
Chief Human Resources Officer
Melissa Greenwell is Towne Park’s Chief Human Resources Officer. She has responsibility for all people and human resources strategies and functions encompassing organizational design and the recruitment, retention, development, management and engagement of our 14,000 associates. Melissa has more than 25 years of experience building and developing high performance teams and organizations. Her expertise includes managing strategic business functions in diverse organizations with a focus on human capital management.
Prior to joining Towne Park, Melissa spent 10 years in executive leadership roles with increasing responsibility at Finish Line, a premium retailer of athletic shoes, apparel and accessories with 950 locations and more than 14,000 associates. As Chief Human Resources Officer she directed all human resource functions including talent management, organization design, recruitment, development, succession planning, benefits and compensation, employee relations, communications and HRIS. More recently Melissa served as the companies’ Chief Operating Officer where she was responsible for setting and executing the corporate strategy. In addition to talent and human resources, she also led IT, Innovation, Supply Chain, Customer Care, Legal and Corporate Communications.
Melissa is a thought leader on the topic of gender balanced leadership and the author of Money On The Table, How To Increase Profits Through Gender- Balanced Leadership.
Melissa has served in leadership roles on several boards including the Finish Line Youth Foundation, Special Olympics of Indiana, the Indianapolis 500 Festival and the Pass the Torch for Women Foundation. She has also been recognized for her leadership by several organizations including the Pass the Torch for Women Foundation and was a recipient of the Indianapolis Business Journal Women of Influence Award. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in organizational leadership from Indiana Wesleyan University, and a certification in leadership coaching
