The brainchild of Matt Cahill, EVP of Towne Park’s hotel division, WDSU has been a substantive initiative dedicated to service delivery, client interaction, professional development and social networking in several markets across the nation. Denver’s WDSU kicked off with a productive operations executive meeting hosted by Denver District Manager John Reimers, followed by an exclusive dinner for key Account Managers Tanner Rogers (Four Seasons Denver), Chris Sullenberger (Denver Marriott City Center), Judson Fisher (Hyatt Regency at Colorado Convention Center) and Dael Finch (Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel). This breaking of bread presented the Account Managers with focused, professional development discussions with senior leaders, one-on-one.

The objective of Towne Park’s Featured Artist program is to highlight the associates who surpass service expectations to create memorable experiences for our client’s guests. Guest Service Associate Teon Simmons was the embodiment of that goal recently at the Marquette Hotel in Minneapolis, and therefore is September’s Featured Artist. Follow the jump to learn how Teon saved one guest time, money and one big headache.

The opening ceremony was held at the World War II Memorial in Annapolis, and included remarks from a variety of local and state political and military luminaries, including Senator Ben Cardin, Special Assistant to Senator Barbara Mikulski and Marine reservist Sarah Leming, Anne Arundel County Executive John R. Leopold, Elizabeth Wyble, president of Friends of Anne Arundel County Trails and Navy Pilot Commander Brian Sinclair. The common theme strung throughout the speeches acknowledged that although there was significant loss on that faithful day on September 11, 2001, the American spirit has endured, and remained as strong as ever. Buoyed by what they had just heard, Towne Park and the 300 volunteers proved this sentiment.

a href="http://townepark.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/Feat-Artist3.jpg">Steven Kopelman, Assistant Account Manager at the Four Seasons Washington, DC, was named this month’s Featured Artist due to his unwavering assistance to a family who had hoped to enjoy a night out together before a torn tire almost derailed their plans. Despite the fact they weren’t even guests at the hotel, Steven stayed an additional four hours after his shift (one he had picked up on his off day to cover for an under the weather co-worker) to ensure the issue was resolved. In going the extra mile, Steven provided this family with a peace of mind, allowing them to enjoy a meal together at their favorite restaurant. An email from the family, written to the CEO at Four Seasons and the General Manager/Regional Vice President of the Four Seasons, Washington DC, can be found after the jump. It praises Steven’s goodwill and clearly explains why he is Towne Park’s Featured Artist for the month of August!

Philadelphia is now The City of Brotherly Service!  Rocky Balboa’s hometown has attained its 2nd  Featured Artist Award, trailing only Orlando as the district inhabited with the most Featured Artists.  This month, it was Zach Zirbel, a Guest Service Coordinator at Homewood Suites University City.

“Zach is being nominated for the Featured Artist award due to his ability to consistently deliver on Towne Park’s service commitment to guests and the positive impact he imparts on every person he meets.”

What made Bob Valentine so special and vital to the growth of Towne Park was his unwavering encouragement of teammates to pursue their dreams and aspirations.   As a direct result of Bob, we became a better company - and even better people. Even though he is no longer with us in body, Bob continues to inspire Towne Park associates in spirit every day.  Ryan Kushner, Account Manager at North Suburban Medical Center, recently honored Bob’s memory by LITERALLY going above and beyond.
