04 Feb Here We Grow Again… in Richmond!
At 3:00pm on December 8, Nick Chessey (Account Manager), Matt Radcliff (Richmond Marriott AM) and Mark Everman (GSC) posted up at the Residence Inn & Courtyard in downtown Richmond, Virginia, the DC Market’s 29th location! The two hotels make up the First Freedom hotel project, located in Richmond’s historic Shockoe Slip district.
Why is the project called First Freedom? The actual site of the hotels, 14th and Cary Streets, is where the Virginia General Assembly passed the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom, placing the protection of religious freedom into law on January 16, 1786!
These hotels are perfectly situated in Richmond – they’re near the city’s financial district, state government buildings, Virginia Commonwealth University hospitals and other downtown historic attractions, like museums and historical venues. This location is our second in Richmond and builds our national accounts portfolio with White Lodging.
I feel the momentum shifting in our favor! Look out for Richmond to add another location or two in 2015.
I want to thank all of those involved in launching this new site!
