07 Jan New Valet and Bell Operations for the Colony Palms Hotel!
In late October, Towne Park began valet and bell operations at the Colony Palms Hotel, a hotel with arguably the most sordid history we’ve ever served!
The building housed a legendary underground speakeasy owned by a local mobster. To enter, you had to descend a secret staircase concealed behind a pantry cupboard.
Following prohibition, the location was converted into a hotel in 1936. The hotel retained the air of exclusivity of an underground speakeasy, and the intimate 56 room property now maintains a $500 per night average room rate.
With high prices come high expectations, so it’s no wonder they called Towne Park to enhance their arrival experience! This hotel is the 5th Southern California property to open in the past 12 months and the 4th hotel in Palm Springs. The Colony Palms also provides a stretch role position for Account Manager David Bremer. David has been named the multi-site Account Manager for the Palm Springs area, handling responsibilities for operations at the JW Marriott Desert Springs, Hyatt Palm Springs, and Colony Palms. Under David’s leadership, we were able to fully train our new staff members and transfer 100% of the associates at the Colony Palms from our other area hotels.
Congratulations to David for continuing to grow his area of influence, and I look forward to securing our 5th Palm Springs property in early 2015!
Special thanks for this opening:
- Matt Zionkowski and the Esmeralda team
- Cristobal Luna and the Hyatt Palm Springs team
- David Bremer and the JW Desert Springs team
