24 March 2014 Towne Health Partner Facility Acknowledges Outstanding Work of Day Surgery Concierge
Towne Health associate Darlene George, a concierge at Pardee Hospital, was recently honored with its inspiring Making a Difference Award, Towne Health’s second in the last few months! The Making a Difference award at Pardee acknowledges team members who “go above and beyond their job duty and make an impact on another person,” according to Karla Edwards, Director of Service Excellence and Organizational Development at Pardee Hospital.
Margaret R. Pardee Memorial Hospital in Hendersonville, NC is managed by UNC Health Care and is the first and only hospital in North Carolina to be accredited with the International Organization for Standardization for quality health care standards. The hospital is licensed for 222 acute care beds and is the second largest employer in Henderson County.
Becki Allen, Asst. Account Manager for Towne Health at Pardee, says Darlene embodies the values of service and caring that earned her this recognition. Darlene greets patients and visitors with a smile as she assists with the sign-in process both in day surgery and in the main lobby. She can be seen providing wayfinding, escorting patients and families to their destinations within the hospital and supporting valet operations by writing out valet tickets and even parking and retrieving cars. In addition to being an excellent role model, Darlene willingly takes on any task both inside and outside the hospital that will help put families at ease. According to Becki, Darlene “lifts others up with her sense of humor and her positive attitude and bubbly laughter.” Darlene’s natural warmth and reassuring presence provide an outstanding example for everyone who cares about Advancing the Patient ExperienceTM. Thank you Darlene for your inspiring work!
