NPA’s 2016 Fair Tax Policy Forum-Towne Park’s Chris Porter

On August 4, 2016, Chris PorCWP Bio Picter, Associate General Counsel for Towne Park, and Jacqueline Tully, a principal with Jackson Lewis, P.C.,  presented at the National Parking Association’s 2016 Fair Tax Policy Forum. This year’s forum focused on minimum wage changes nationwide, and recent amendments to the overtime exemption rule under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).  Ms. Tully discussed the current legal landscape of both the minimum wage changes and the recent changes under the FLSA. She explained what employers could expect in the future, and extended practical management guidance.  Mr. Porter provided Towne Park’s unique perspective on how the company manages minimum wage increases across its enterprise, and how it is currently managing the impact of the new amendments to the Fair Labor Standards Act.

The Fair Tax Policy Forum typically presents to a small group. However, this year’s session enrolled a larger than the usual number of participants, showing the importance of these topics to employers nationwide.  If you would like to learn more about the National Parking Association’s 2016 Fair Tax Policy Forum or this presentation, please visit the following: http://weareparking.org/event/2016taxpolicyforum.
